How to get back the number of fans who have hidden you from their news feed ?

Dear friends, it’s been a while.
Sorry, we’ve been very busy building the most advanced Facebook Analytics solution in the market (well, at least, that’s my wife’s opinion.)

Some people have been complaining of the recent removal of the “Unsubscribes” metric from Facebook’ brand new Insights. That’s right they’re nowhere to be found. Even in the Excel extract.

Don’t worry, we have a solution for you. It takes a bit of time, but it’s really easy. Just follow these 4 steps.

      1. Your page id

First, you need to get the Facebook id of the page you want to retrieve the data for.
To get it, go to your page.

      Facebook id retrieval

      Then, change “www” into “graph”.

      Facebook graph api

And here you have your id, on the very first line. Copy it.

      2. Go to Facebook’s Graph api explorer

      https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/

      3. Get your access token

Click on the “Get Access Token” button. Verify that “read_insights” is selected on the third tab. Click on “Get Access Token”.

      4. Retrieve the data

In the field next to the “Get button”, input the following command :

      https://graph.facebook.com/YourPageId/insights/page_negative_feedback_by_type_unique

Click on “Submit” to get the unsubscribes for one day, 7 days and 28 days periods.

      Facebook Insights Unsubscribes

For the details, here is the meaning of the data extracted :

Hide_all : number of people who hid all stories from your page
Hide : number of people who hid a story from your page
Unlike_page : number of people who unliked your page
Report_spam : number of people who reported one of your post as a spam

Hope you’ll find this trick useful. Please, leave a comment below to let me know.
      Steve
